Agus Anois An Aimsir
[And Now The Weather]
SYNOPSIS:
During the climate crisis in Ireland, three generations find themselves stuck in a cycle of loneliness. The only thing that connects them is their radio. A series of interconnected stories, this multidisciplinary play combines puppetry, movement and poetry to explore how we may become more connected as a nation even when language fails us.
In 2022, Ireland was declared to have, “the highest levels of loneliness in Europe.” Agus Anois An Aimsir [And Now For The Weather] is a devised performance that explores this loneliness across three generations. Loveen and Maggot are a young couple struggling to navigate their codependent relationship whilst being trapped inside. Birdie and Brendan are two working class people who met on a night bus. Baba is an older man who has emigrated to Ireland with only a dog in his suitcase. The only thing they all share is their love of radio.
